I grew up in a town that was half latino. I played in bands with lots of Mexicans. I played blues music with these Mexicans . They didnt think of themselves as Mexicans, nor did I. They were just comrades-in-arms. I did not even know of their ancsetry or even once think of it till I was much much older. Can you see the point?
The point is great music is great music. I dont care what nationality or race plays it.

My favourite has got to be Deodato, a brazilian keyboardist from the bossa nova movement who dedicated his albums to immense jams, filled with keyboard and guitar solos.

I am going to bow out of this thread . One guy quotes me and makes a very obvious statement that has nothing to do with what I said and another says he dont care about the nationality of the band and puts the name of the country for the band .

i'm listening to Cesar now, a great latin jazz band from the 60s or 70s.

i found their album after much hunting, which makes it more special to me.
