u could get an 8800 gts 640 for that money or a gtx even. DON'T GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got something in my front pocket for you.
Why don't you reach down in my pocket and see what it is?
Then grab onto it, it's just for you.
Give a little squeeze and say: "How do you do?"

I don't know how much that would be in US currency, so I can't tell. On top of that, I don't know an excessive amount about computers. And as long as were talking about graphics cards, whats a good card that doesn't cost an arm and leg?
#5
If that is what I think it is, which is Great British Pounds, then that is one overpriced card.

It would do the job but if you are willing to spend that much, get this.

Or if you want to get something that is overkill for now, but will kick ass for a fwe years at least, get the model up from that (8800 GTX, or the ATi HD2900XT). Will kick ass at high resolutions for a damn long time.
It costs £152 and will do the job much better, and will keep you covered for a damn long time. Better card for a better price - you can't lose.

Although you will probably have to find a European/British seller if you are in England/Europe obviously. I can't really help with that as I am Australian.

By Project Reality, do you mean the Battlefield 2 mod?

Hey. The 6800U would not perform that well with todays games but if its only $40 go for it! ALSO don't go get anything insane like and 8800 or 2900XT it will most likely be bottlenecked by the rest of your system. Please post your system specs!
EDIT!: keep the 6600GT for aslong as you can I'm still using mine, here you can use this to compare video cards: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=720&model2=722&chart=294
Also if you live in USA buy the video card off newegg good prices very fast shipping and a very good return policy.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz

Memory: 1022MB RAM

Hard Drive Space: 250 GB (Current free space 177.1 GB)

Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)

And I don't know my power supply wattage.

As far as budget goes I am not currently searching for a new card, I was just wondering if that was even worth getting or if it was even a good enough upgrade from ym current 6600GT for $40.

Edit: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com is reccomending I get a 6800+ or Radeon 9800+ to play Age of Conan.

lol
mc cooey mean irishman??

havent heard that one before..lol

And I have the racial slurs database bookmarked!!

EDIT: Just realised you were Irish too!

Anyways, back tot he task at hand. 8800 gts 320mb would be your best option. At the resolution you game at, anything over that would just be overkill and useless. Just make sure your power supply can handle it. Make sure you have a minimum of 550w.

BTW newegg.com is great. I built my whole computer with parts from that site.

The 8600 cards arent very good for gaming. They're more of a card for video playback and HTPC's. They make pretty piss poor gaming cards.

Theres not really much point in getting that graphics card. Its a waste of money to upgrade unless its a much better card. Keep your money, you really wont notice much difference.
