I'm looking to replace my stock mexican tunning pegs since they barley stay in tune, without the whammy bar.

I've been leaning towards to locking tuners but i'm still not 100% percent on those.

Do you guys have nay suggestions on what kind of non-locking tunners i can get, that can hold up to whammy abuse.

First of all, strats aren't made for whammy abuse. And about anything is better than the stock ones. Locking is good, look at Schaller or Gotoh.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

machine heads are just another way of saying tuning pegs.

try a vintage grover or schaller.

How old are your stock mexi-tuners?

Brand new tuners should hold up for a while--no matter what you buy. As the cheaper tuners get older, they will begin to slip easier.
