No just thinking about getting a guitar and putting some EMGS in it and wondering if these were special pickups

Nope, not really. With passives, matched pairs matter a bit, but with EMG Actives, it doesn't really.

Besides, there are lots of great combinations. 81/60, 81/85, 81/89, or maybe even 91/85, but I wouldn't try that last one unless I knew what I was doing... :P

There's more to EMGs than just 81/85s. Check em out. Make an informed decision.

its just a normal 81 and 85 isnt it? it doesnt say zakk wylde on them, its just the 2 he uses i believe?

yeah I use a emg 81/60A combo and it sounds great. Thinking of trying it 60/81 though might sound better. Also make sure you watch the pickup height it makes a huge difference
