OK im definately gona buy a VC30, i think i made the right choice with the 212, tell me if i didnt. Anyway for good distortion could i use my metal muff, or would i need to buy an overdrive and use it in conjunction with the amps distortion.

Gawd, stick to one thread man. It depends on what you want. I'd rather get a nice OD or something. The VC30 can do hard rock on it's own, but it needs a little extra for metal.

Maybe a TS-808, a Maxon OD-9 or a Fulltone OCD? The Metal Muff could probably do it, if youve got the Metal Muff already, get the amp first, then try it with the Muff. If its not good enough, then get an OD.

Depends what sound you want. If you want a metal sound, should have got a different amp.
But an OD would do it.
