Most of the bands are asked to play on wedding but ironically my band has been asked to play at the funeral(Party in peace). So can you guys suggest any song .We are thinking to go with tears in heaven but i want to explore my options.

I don't want to sound insensitive but every gig is a gig right??
The Jam - Going Underground.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.

lol I r so wacky.

Id probably have just have a mozart funeral movement.
Patterns In The Ivy present ethnicity on an intriguing and dedicated level. ~Ambient Exotica
A mesmeric melange of yearning voice, delicate piano and carefully chosen samples. ~Lost Voices
Queen- Another one bites the dust ??

But nah seriously go with Tears in heaven, its a lovely song!
highway to hell, or chopins death march
Jackson DKMG Dinky (EMG 81/85)
Ibanez GIO (i put a Dimbucker in the bridge)
Crate GT65 (65 watts) to be upgraded soon, suggestions welcome (must be tubed)
Floor Pod (for sale)
Pearl Jam- Yellow ledbetter
I'd ask the guy's family what kind of music he listened to, and play some of his favorite songs. that'd be nice and touching, but not overly cheesy.
Opeth - To bid you farewell
...And the worms ate into his brain.
Mad World - Gary Jules (that Donnie Darko song for all you who don't know what I'm talking about!)

Overkill - Colin Hay?

De Montfort Uni
In My Darkest Hour - Megadeth

Maybe not appropriate for a funeral so go with Tears In Heaven.

Beating the elderly is a big favourite of mine. Also, pushing kids over and kicking pregnant women in the womb is fun.

Right now we're called 'Various Artists' just to fuck over people with iPods
Wish you were here : Pink Floyd
apparently UG's only type O-

Thanks jb_designs.
I like the Gary Jules idea.
You should play some of the deceased's favorite *downtempo* songs. If you bust into Freebird, I'm pretty sure you'll never get another gig in your life. Don't be depressing, but don't be upbeat either. Mellow.
Away Message: I fell out of my chair, this may take awhile.
ive been to funeral where they played knocking on heavens door. but in this river by black label society seems more fitting.
My Chemical Romance- Welcome To The Black Parade.

You dont wanna be in a situation where you're bending your penis and attacking it with a pick and literally wanking the guitar.

Try some Porcupine Tree. Not depressing. Not upbeat.

On a less serious note:

The Funeral Portrait = Opeth. That would make me lol.
