We need more information about your musical tastes. What music genres do you listen to, etc. so that we could really give you an accurate opinion.

P.S. I myself have a Line 6 Spider II 112 (75 watts). And I don't really like it. I would rather get something else.

Saying high watted amps isn't specific enough...

Specific would be telling us the amp models.

I bet you're talking about Spiders, which are toneless, lifeless and digital- sound pretty horrible, but the Flextones and Vettas are pretty good

Agreed. Approved. +1.

EDIT: As what Yngwi3 said, Spiders are toneless and lifeless. Personally I would take a look at other brand names, such as Vox, Roland.

By the way, what's your budget?

Oh wow, then you could get way more BETTER choices. Instead of getting solid-state amps, get tube amps. Since you play metal/hard rock, you could get a tube amp with a distortion pedal.

*EDIT*
*Is waiting for Jinskee to recommend Orange amps*.. maybe, maybe not?

i like the flextone3 XL very much, its often under rated. if you want flexibility I'd say go for the line6. or else get a Roland cube 60 or something similar.

i dont see why everyone is hating on the line 6 spider series, i will say that the clean channel kind of sounds ****ty but the distortion is killer with the right guitar.

Actually, it's $959.14 USD

I mean the Spider series isn't that great, but im fine with it. I can practice with it.. it works. So I'm fine with it. But you have a 1000 dollar budget, I only had like 250 when I decided on my Line 6.

You can get 10x better amps than the Spider series. Flextone isn't bad, pretty good actually. But once again, I still think you can get a better amp. Traynor amps are pretty good (the YCV50BLUE). 50 watts tube power = 100 watts solid state. Line 6 is solid state, the Traynor is tube.

1. The Spider is gash, the Flextone is pretty good
2. You don't need "at least 100 watts"

well i have a Line 6 spider III 150 HD head running into a 1960a marshall cab. I love it personally because it give a sick metal sound. idk why every one hates em but if you have a budget of 1000$ you should get a tube amp. Peavys are pretty good. Check out guitarcenter.com and just list the items by price. Are you looking for a combo or a head?

Two players who own a Line 6 are telling you to get a tube amp. Listen to owners. I applaud their honesty and lack of ego. Three owners are telling you you can do better.

Tube amps are warmer and much more pleasing to the ear. As Jinskee said, check out the stickys they provide a lot of useful information.

Spiders are terrible, and don't be so hell bent on high wattage. Tone first, chowder head.
Vettas are alright, but look at tube amps for christs sake.

I''ll repeat - you don't need at least 100 watts, Mr Fudd.

A 100 watt solid state amp is more than loud enough...so is a 30 watt tube amp.
