What the hell are you talking about? Solid state can sound excellent. Tool, Dimebag Darrell, and Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead all use Solid state, and have excellent tones.

Orange in terms of tone...but I sure do love the cleans on my fender...

Alex Jones, read the article again.

He uses them occasionaly, but goes for Solid State. It is just a different tone, and it can be excellent.

According to a guitar buddy of mine who's obsessed with tool, the majority of Adam Jones's sound is from a Diezel VH4. I can guarantee that he also recorded with a Rivera KR-7 on some parts too.

i think he used different amps on this album. i dont wanna go get my gw.

No Mesa? Anyway, I guess my favorite is my B-52, because that's the best amp I own.

If I had unlimited money, I'd vote Diezel (other).

Budget wise, it's close between a Mesa Triaxis + Poweramp, or a Line 6 HD-147.

Too bad no one knows about Mojave amps. They're made by the guy who founded Plexi Palace, & they're like old Plexis on steroids. They get my vote.
If I had to pick from that incomplete list, there's nothing that can match an Orange.

You, my friend, are cultured!
I spend too much time researching amps looking for the ultimate. Amps are like ice cream...you find a flavor that's the best you've ever tasted, then 2 months later, you find a flavor you like better. Pretty soon you're gear pile is like 31 Flavors.
Check out Roccafortes also. Very Plexi.

haha, touche!

I refuse to vote, i could never pick just one! depends on the mood i'm in, what song i want to play, what guitar i want to use, etc.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
