okay i was wondering what other people thought about the sonic maximizer and useing it for bass. I have been thinking for a while now about buying one but i just have not made up my mind.

ive played on one before with an ampeg SVT 3 pro and it sounded okay it added some bass but it was not really a huge improvement it just gave youre bass a different feel but maybe i just did not have it set right. i think the point of it is to make it sound more "huge" or something

so has anyone ever played with one or had any experience with one? what are youre thoughts? on it. also if i bought one should i put it in the FX loop? or between preamp and power amp? should i get it now and ask questions later i found a nice one for $40

don't know if this will help, but I've been messing with a few basslines lately using my sonic max and a GNX4, with the GNX4 usually on bypass. Keep in mind I'm no bass player, so it's pretty crappy playing, but I think it does add some lowend and clarity. I like it alot for that percussive sound.

the tone sounds pretty good. would you consider the sonic maximizer a key element of your sound? should i put it into the FX loop of my preamp or put it between preamp and power amp?

did you use alot or a little of the sonic maximizer?

thanks for being helpfull =)

thanks man. yeah, I really like it with just about anything. I use it with my multi fx, and my amps, for guitar and bass. As long as you don't dial it in too aggressive, it can be very transparent too. I prefer it in the FX loop after the preamp, or after a mic if you are recording. Depending what I'm playing, I dial it in more or less, but it's basically always in the chain somewhere.
