Hey, I have been getting into jazz and smooth jazz a lot lately, but I don't know much jazz theory. If anyone has any tips or pointers, I would really appreciate hearing them.

I have heard from many people that jazz is played mostly in mixolydian mode. Could anyone could help me out with the basics of playing in mixolydian mode, that'd be great.

Thanks.

they change scales and modes and keys a lot. it depends on the chord that is being played at the time (i think)
