I just started learning this technique as well. The hardest part is getting the hands synced up; so what I did was learn some classical songs on the keyboard and applied it to the guitar: tapping the bass parts with my left hand and thoroughly practicing tapping the melody with my right hand. It's hard but don't get discouraged; one can do anything with enough practice. Check out some Chris Broderick; he does some really great 8 finger tapping you can learn from.

I currently have a pattern like this I'm practising;

-------------10-7-8
------9-6-7
8-5-6

I think the best way to learn this would be to practise the tapped notes first, then slowly add in the left hand notes.
