im using and ibanez s270 guitar which i dont use the whammy at all but i like the guitar. it isnt very stable tuning wise..would i be better buying sperzels and keeping the nut bolt things off or just getting a new trem.

how new is it? was it used when you got it? to save money i'd say just break the strings in..basically meaning grab them and stretch them. almost literally pick up the guitar with the string and bounce it a little, being careful not to break them. then re-tune and see if it stays in tune. worked for me.

Dont get the sperzels, its a waste of cash, a locking nut is better for FR type bridge. If you dont the trem much, then i suggest you block the trem and undo all the nuts, it'll act just like a fixed bridged guitar.
