I've done it. I've been going out with one of my best friends for almost two years now. It's not a bad thing, it's just the problem of what happens if it doesn't work out.

I agree with the TS. The odd thing is that u usually don't fall in true love with someone until you start becoming good friends with them. That's when you look at personality more than looks. Well in my case anyway

It'd be great, actually. Granted they liked you back and all.

But if you break up, you better hope it's amicable because there goes your significant other AND best friend.

xactly wat i was thinking, but then black star has a point, if it doesnt work out ur screwed, but u are best friends so i dont think it could go wrong

and muphin, ive seen it here and there

If it doesn't work you might lose a great friendship. That would be a major bummer.

Happened to me. Sucks. Didn't talk to each other for 3 months. We don't really hang out any more.

Trust me, it happens more often then you'd think. 99% of the time, either your friend doesn't feel the same way, or they back out to preserve the friendship (ends up ruining it most of the time anyways)

It's not. Be warned that if your best friend is a girl, she's almost guaranteed to have already taken you out of the running for potential boyfriends.
#18
its happened to me a little bit too much... and all happens the same way: date them, things are great, time passes, begin to lose interest, somehow bad **** happens, break up, and still havn't talked to them for a year. see them at school, akward as hell

one of my good friends is REALLY hot. i used to be in love with her. i couldnt stop thinking about her. but she doesnt like me. bummer.

in my experience... I lost her, seemingly forever.

Its not bad if it works out, but thats EXTREMELY rare

Been there...

I lost one of my best female friends I had ever had (known each other for 2 1/2 years, even though we didn't really bring anything up about it a couple months before it crashed and burned). I mean, me and her were close... Like brother and sister, except we didn't fight.

Trust me, if this girl... or guy... you plan on dating has been your friend for a long time, keep the friendship. Don't take the risk because it's NOT worth it. I've been there myself and it was the biggest mistake I ever made... Kinda makes me mad just thinking about it...

Most girls won't do it because you've already "developed a friendship" with one another.

Amen! It's hard enough remaining friendly after a break-up. If you break up with the girl that used to be your best friend, you might be able to be friendly, but you probably won't be able to be as close as you once were.

That's an awful lot to risk. Teens, no way. If you're mid 20's or older, maybe.
If you're ready to settle down and get married ... definitely.

i agree so much. I thinnk that 50% of the time, you will end up breaking up and possilbly losing a good friend, but, sometimes it could work out. I used to be friends with this girl, she was hot and all, then I started to date her and stuff, then when we broke up, I lost another friend. I suggest that you stay friends
#33
yea this happened to me, but thnx god nothin happen and we still love ech other, as best friends though
