This is a Christian Rock song. Please tell me what you think of it. Even if it hurts

Verse 1

I’m not the missionary type

I could never be a preacher

I’m not good at talking to

All of those strangers

I’ve never been able to

Say the longest prayers

But according to his word

God don’t even care.

Pre-Chorus

Because I serve God

In a different way

I’ll listen to what

He has to say

Chorus

Because I rock for God

And I’ll sing him a song

When I’m up on the stage

I don’t do it for the fortune

Or fame

I Rock For God!

Verse 2

Everybody thinks that you

Have to act the same

But just look at Jesus life

They all though he was strange

I may not be the perfect Christian

And I’m sure not a Saint

But when people ask me who I worship

I tell them god And I’m not ashamed

Pre-Chorus

Because I serve God

In a different way

I’ll listen to what

He has to say

Chorus

Because I rock for God

And I’ll sing him a song

When I’m up on the stage

I don’t do it for the fortune

Or fame

I Rock For God!

Nice, always good to see someone praising God.

Question: Do you have music for it? If so who's style would it be similar too?

Just nit picking now: You wrote in the song "And I'm sure not a Saint", but when we become Christians that's exactly what we are. The word saint comes from the word sanctified, which an aspect of sanctified means: set aside or set apart. And that's what God has done with us, He set us aside for His glory! Again just nit picking.

KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!

To answer your question I do have music for it. It sounds a little bit like a Third Day song.

i'm not christian but the "i'm not a saint" line really got me . the flow is pretty smooth also. it's a good song over all. keep on writing

do you ever listen to sufjan stevens? i would recommend seven swans as a good starting point, and because this album is pretty much a concept album about christianity. he talks a lot about his faith without being overbearing with it, which i think is often a problem with christian music [at least, that which i've heard]. the song itself is good because it is passionate and earnest, which is always appreciated in songwriters, but it might be seen by some as too much or as a novelty song. something unintentionally funny because it is so strong with its message. so, i guess what i'm saying is to try to be more subtle in future songs, as to reach a larger group with your music.

Sorry man but im not a big man of christian rock. the verses were good but dint care for the chorus
"You've got to dance like nobody else is watching.
Dream like you will live forever.
Live like you're going to die tomorrow,
and love like it is never gonna hurt."
-- James Dean (1931-1955)

It was spiritual and flowed very nicely.

And if you get the time, since you already read I.C.L.W.O.Y., check out my other song, Victory.
