After a few years of playing i have decided it is time to upgrade from my 10 watt practice amp to a bigger, louder and better sounding tube amp. So i have decided to come to you guys for some suggestions.

I play punk, rock, blues and metal.

Thanks,
Luke

Fender Blues Jr. with an insane overdrive+distortion pedal, or a Crate Palomino V16 with a decent overdrive pedal. both sweet amps, not too loud, $400, and if u get a Jekyll and Hyde or sumtin, u can cover metal.

not so Mesa for blues. Marshall is okay for blues, okay for metal, gets stuff in between, but expensive.

I wouldn't suggest a Recto.

Get a Mesa F series if you have a bit to spend, you can find them fairly cheap (for a Mesa that's still in production). Or perhaps a Mesa Nomad, you can sometimes find them for $5-600 and they're great little amps. VERY versatile and much better sounding distortion than a recto.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I tried the F series today, And I didn't really like it compared to what replaced it. The Express series is so much more versatile in my opinion, and easier to dial in tone.

EDIT:^ It would nail all those, and it does good blues.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

I know the LC 15 will do all that, not too experienced with the VC15 though, although I've heard good things.

Nice amps but make sure there is a good service over there cause most need to use the waranty policies!
