Is there any difference between the eVH Dyna Comp and the regular one? Or are you just paying more for the paint job? Or (even more likely) is the store ripping me off by pricing the EVH model higher?

Also, are there other compressors that are better for approximately the same price?

BTW I will be running it through a G-DEC with a Crybaby, a Boss OS-2 overdrive and a Tony Iommi SG, Squier Strat or a Les Paul

Yeah, the EVH one isn't a dyna comp.

And for that price, the dyna comp can't be beat.

you must mean the phase 90. assuming you do, the EVH phase 90 and the normal current production block logo phase 90s are different. the EVH is thicker and fuller sounding and feels most pulsating than the normal one. you gotta a/b them to really hear the difference.

Oh, oops, sorry... But the dyna comp's a good compressor?

I think he's talking bout the MXR dyna comp. I would recommend the boss cs-3, much more things you can do with it for the price.
