Could you imagine a guitar with, instead of strings, piano wire or piano strings?

I wonder if it would be good for metal...

piano strings may break the guitar they can handle more than 300 pounds of pressure.

Don't you think, if it were distorted, it would sound FRIGGIN AWESOME?

Although it might be a little hard to pluck or strum.

Why not just distort/overdrive a piano instead? Same idea... =P

And wrong area, check out Electric Guitar forum , or wherever it would be appropriate... .

violin strings wear out, they just last longer because you dont have frets on a violin and you dont use a pick with it, you use a horse hair bow. i think they would work just like guitar strings.
But it would be a bitch replacing strings, the strings go all the way upto $70 for a single set of strings and its about $40 for regular decent strings. they do sell cheaper strings for about $20 for a set, and even cheaper strings for less which would probly break with a single pick or strum.

Wrong forum.. bound to be closed

Anyways, piano string on any guitar would bow the neck pretty bad.. just get 13's if you really want something heavy with a lot of tone lol
