All I can do at this time is use a computer mic or an mp3..both can be heavily discouraged to be used I know..I used to have this line 6 thing..where you plug the guitar into the box and then use gearbox or something..but I want to be able to record MY amp..not some cheesy effects on a computer program..I want me doing the effects not the computer hah...anyway aside from the rant..what do you recommend?..hmm..around maybe 100$ would be appropriate but if thats too little let me know but thats what i prefer..

OK.
I don't know much about Crate's ( my friend has got one and it's a monster ) but do you have a line out from your amp? or an outputjack somewhere on the amp for the mic cable? ( the one with 3 holes )

I have nuendo for recording, and I go through my amp in the pc via the output, and I get a pretty good guitar sound... if you want leave your mail or msn, I can send it to you so you can hear what I'm talking about

I checked the back of the amp and this is what i saw

"Extension Speaker"
"Footswitch"
"Insert"
Each one had one socket except for the dsp footswitch part..i dont have anything on the amp with 3 holes but I know what your talking about

I've read up on something called a DI box..If i plug that thing into the computer and run my amp into it I can record straight from the amp right? (I'm only guessing)..I also know that I need an interface...

Hm.. sorry not quite familiar with it... I'll have to check it out... it's a good thing if you have a program and you can record at home, if you have a good idea or riff, you can reocrd it, and if some time passes and you forget it you can hear it again.
