Any one have an opinion on these? I play metal and i need new pickups. I want actives but not EMG. I understand the Metal/Classic require two 9 volts. The guitar they would be in would not really be for cleans, just high gain metal. So being diverse in sound isn't a crucial thing in this setup. Just want a pickup that is crisp and heavy. Oh and don't worry about my amp. I know the amp needs to be changed first, got a Mark 4 on the way...so i think i'll be set.
Setup
Shecter C-1 Classic
Ibanez S2170 Prestige
Crate GT120
Ibanez Tube Screamer
Dunlop Cry Baby Original

I have the seymour duncans that take 2 batteries and they get wicked harmonics and sweet tone. My amp creates some hiss though when my hands aren't on it so I got a boss noise compresser pedal took care of the problem. Only problem is that the cleans sound terrible... other than that awesome!

Friend of mine has the Mustaine pickups, they sound 20x better than EMGs, wish my guitars had enough room for them

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Probably, I've never opened up an Ibanez, but if they're anything like a Jackson inside, it'll fit.

Hmm, as far as I have heard, it's tough just to put one 9v in the thin-bodied S, and for the Livwwires, you'd need two...

But I haven't tried it myself, so I might be wrong.

(oh, and +1 at checking out the blackouts)
