OK so here's my second piece. It's all about having to work your notice period at work because you can't afford not to. Basically looking at which is worth more your time or money.

I hope someone likes it.

Wasting Time in Notice

Working hard so days go quickly
Busy bee with lots of nothing
Sitting still just simply sitting
Gets me nowhere fast at all

This motivation that’s all we need
To carry on and carry winning
Losing what yet winning nothing
Losing all with nothing gained
Balance there it’s time and money
You never lose with time at all
This money earned is life expended
Life I can’t afford to spend

Thinking now of all I’m wanting
Buying gear with life I’m selling
Writing here just simply writing
Gets me nowhere fast at all

This motivation that’s all we need
To carry on and carry winning
Losing what yet winning nothing
Losing all with nothing gained
Balance there it’s time and money
You never lose with time at all
This money earned is life expended
Life I can’t afford to spend

Sadly said I’ll work my notice
Keeping black is what I’m hoping
Sitting still just simply sitting
Gets me nowhere fast at all

Hey, thanks for the crit on mine, now it's my turn.

It's good, especially as a song, I can imagine the words being sung.
I especially like the 2 lines
"This money earned is life expended
Life I can’t afford to spend"

It's simple without being cliched, and gets straight to the point, nice job.

Dude that's nice! I could never get myself to write some lyrics..let alone sing them!

I'd embarass myself..

This is better than your first one though, like Horebane said I basically sang it in my mind, the other was more spoken. You should deffinitely write a song around this!

flickr you might

Oranges are actually a revolution though - they're the next step from Rectos IMO.
