Anyone else have this yet? Got my copy this morning, and although I've heard a lot of mixed opinion, I honestly think its his best since Voodoo or House of God, with a great story to boot.
Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a London date on his Euro tour....

The music is awesome, certainly a step up from The Puppet Master. But my main gripe is the lyrics. I swear he spends more than two songs talking about how it is dark and he cannot see. Then another song explaining how he needs light. I also think the story is a step down, one of my least favorite Diamond tales.

i think the story is OK. Album is pretty stellor musically. Some boring **** lyric-wise as it pertains to the story on a couple songs (ruining the concept with its sickeningly mundane material if anything).
ya a song like Black of Night will help you understand..

King Diamond is truly an awesome human being.

decomposed state"

And one of only 2 people to have ever looked any good in corpse paint.

And who would be that other person?

but, yes indeed.

My ex girlfriend admits that she would "tap dat".

I heard he had to crawl out of bathroom windows to get away from angered fans. At least that is what my father tells me.

Got the album. Good stuff. I haven't listened to the King in much too long. This is getting me back in to the classics aswell.

I really was disappointed in the music on this album. Most notably the leads. I am a huge King Diamond fan and Andy always does it for me but he just missed on this one. Good album, but no where near his others.

Andy missed his leads? I think this is his strongest in the lead department by far. Another great addition to the King's legacy.
