Im planning on getting a Peavy Valveking 212 and I was wondering if I would be able to acheive a "metal" tone with this amp. As you probably can tell, this will be my first tube amp.
What sort of pedals, if any, would I need to get a "metal" sound.

you can get a LOT of really good amps for under 600 dollars that are tubes. as long as they are less than like 60 watts. DON'T GET A PEAVEY.

What about the Crate Palomino V3212 30w.
Also what are some good pedals for the sound I'm going for?

Peavey Valvekings do not "suck." Specific reasons why they suck and please include your playing experience, i.e. have you actually played through one, how long did you play through it, etc.
