Is it a pretty big bridge?

yeah it is, i live not to far from it, it's a pretty widely used bridge. Someone on the news said that 20 cars doesn't even seem close to how many cars she's seen laying around.

edit: yeah that looks to be the bridge

pretty harsh i must say.. on the american news cahnnel i get it said there was like a bus full of kids that just fell into the water :| and like a hundred other cars fell as well. On TV it showed a silver car that was entangled into the warped framework of the broken bridge itself :| now theres gonna be a worldwide Bridge reconstruction program for the next 25 years

you beat me by 3 minutes to making a thread RAWR

Yeah, that was all over the TV tonight as breaking news. Thank god they didn't interrupt The Simpsons to cover it.

Edit: Hmmmm, it seems my trip down there this summer might hit a snag.

2 dead is the report so far.

It's sad. The bus full of kids didnt actually fall in the water I heard, but some of the kids were hurt pretty bad.

thank christ. i heard a bunch of reports of "buses going off the bridge" juxtaposed with images of the bridge in the water and all i could think of was hundreds of people drowning in their cars. men, women and children. damn you news! you know how to play on my emotions.

I wonder what caused it to collapes.

it was probably the steel that failed, because it sounds like the 2 piers that it was resting on are still intact.

that's terrifying and tragic to think that three people driving home from work on a wednesday on a bridge they've surely driven countless times died.

You fucking asshole, that was horrible, let alone far from funny.

I live quite near to this, and it's really a scary thought...the death toll is unfortunately going to go up, considering there are cars trapped under the bridge, and probably more in the water. Over 50 cars were on it, and it's just a tragedy. A truck driver that was on the bridge got out of his truck and helped the kids on the school bus. What a guy. Kylster...watch it. That's just uncool.

I just google image searched it and found these:

Is it this bridge?

I think it's the one next to it. I just saw on the news and a bridge that looked like that picture was fine.

I drive over that bridge to get to wisconsin for college. It will at least be another 10 or 15 minutes more to get around it.

I hope nobody got hurt.
