I got a Epi Les Paul Standard and the neck for a lack of better words isn't very smooth and a bit too glossy, and I wasering what I could do to it to make the neck a little more bearable.
take a very fine grade sand paper and evenly sand it, just enough to get the clear coat off
rub icy hot on it.

i wonder....

I was thinking about using the green Scotch-Brite to take off the clear coat.
Just wondering.
I'm not trying to sound like an ass, but why did you buy a guitar with a neck you didn't like?
my neck used to not be smooth from the gloss then i just polished the hell out of it and it was great.
fight the power that be
I bought it cause I was a lefty in a small town with not many choices and I like the Les alot apart from the neck.
