I have been playing guitar for a little over two years now and im playing on a B.C. Rich Warlock guitar with which ive installed EMG 81 and 85 humbucking pickups into.
I'm playing on a Peavey Rage 108 amp i think its like 15 watts or so but i completely hate the sound of this amp. I have a pretty good guitar now and i think im due for a new amp. what would be a great metal shred amp i could get I was thinking marshall mg or something like this but i honestly have no idea what i should be looking for. Also what are some of the best pedals for shredding out there?
thanks.oh andd wattage doesnt really matter, unless it changes sound somehow ?

by the way im not doing gigs or anything, its purely for bedroom practice, so im not too concerned about wattage - just tone and how it sounds etc.

i can spend more thatn $200 actually. im jsut saying wattage doesnt really matter because im not needing to go very loud.

is the Marshall MG50DFX a good amp?

No, it isn't a good amp at all.

I'm going to report this, just so it gets moved to the GGA, wear it belongs.

You're not gonna find a good tube amp for metal, not for bedroom use, and not a budget one.

Why don't you check out the Roland Cube series? Or maybe the Vox Valvetronix ones. I think they're called XL, or something? I haven't tried them yet, though.
I think a Roland Cube 30 would work just fine for you, though.
