Has anyone ever tried one of these? it's on thomann.de, very similar to the Epi Valve junior and much cheaper. I'm thinking about buying one as a practise amp as i've sold my Cube 60. I won't be able to try before i buy it as Thomann is mail order and i've never seen one of these anywhere else....Link in a few mins....
EDIT: heres a link to it http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_ga5.htm

There was a youtube video of it somewhere. Apparently it's very very similar to the VJ. I'd rather have bought it instead of the VJ - cheaper, additional tone knob and looks better IMO. I'll see if I can find the youtube video - if I remember right he uses an FX processor but you get a good idea of the natural tone at some point.

Okay, there's a few now:

I haven't watched em but they all came up when I searched it. Check 'em out.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

from what i heard, the VJ got a bit more dirt, but that's hearsay.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

From what I've heard, it's exactly the same as a VJ, only with a tone control where there was a fixed resistor in the original. Identical schematics and everything.

Somebody was also saying that they're made in the same factory, and Harley Benton purchased the rights to sell similar amps from Epiphone. Not sure, though.

^ yeah, i mean they look similar.

sound control purchased the rights too with their grainger amps... would also be worth considering if you're in the UK or close...

There is a guy on ebay that mods them, and he reckons they are exactly the same and you can see where the "valve junior" screen printed logo is scraped from the circuit board

There is another make too Grainger amps also do copies of the VJ and Valve standard but much cheaper
