My friends pointed out that most of the stuff I write is in like 5/4 or 11/8 time and that I turn everything into an arpeggio.

I use delay, Whammy 4, and a loops station when I write with my band so quite a unique sound.
My "Signature Tones" are heavy distortion with dive bar seetings on whammy.
Or clean tone with 666 millisecond delays and wah.

I also like to tap arpeggios, I use my selector switch alot for killing sound.

And as an accent to a written song I throw in the behind the nut pick on the g-string, It sounds pretty kool.

I could never do that. Everything I play sounds very cold and mechanical.

I use a lot of tapping and tremolo picking, and mix that in with medium speed heavy riffs. I also like to use bends and pinch harmonics a bit during solos, but don't overuse the pinch harmonics. *cough*Zakk Wylde*cough*

i find i play best when im paying little or no attention to what im doing, maybe you should try that, i used to play very staedy solos that rarely deviated from one speed until i stopped thinking to much and just played it.
#34
Soft warm tones on acoustic, and I play songs that eventually end on an e minor chord on electric.
#36
I like to use really really weird chords....Try a few of these out

---3---------10-------6---------15------13------------0-------------5--------------
---0---------10-------9---------14------15------------2-------------7--------------
---2---------10-------7---------14------17------------1-------------6--------------
---1----------9--------6---------14------15------------2-------------7--------------
---2---------10--------8---------------------------------0-------------5--------------
---0--------------------6------------------------------------------------0--------------

Plus your standard barre chord 5ths and 7ths, But yeah over the years i have really tried learning as many weird assed and odd chords you can learn. take any of these chrods and put em all over the fret board. To play the frist and sixth chords anywhere on the fret board just barre them like any ther chrods,

Still working on one that defines me as a player. For now, I just bend and do vibratos Clapton style.

I tend to Pinch all 6 strings with the fingering of a chord, it makes it sound like bells.
Without distortion of course.
