Basically me and my mates are looking to all learn part of a song and it needs to be 3 way but were pretty stuck on what song to use, so if anyones got any decent metal/rock songs that are 3 way guitar parts tell us please =D?

Don't know many with 3 part harmonies.

Actually, I think protest the hero might.

EDIT: oh, I thought you meant 3 part lead.

Third & add9
Third & add11
Third & Fifth

Are the most common 3-way harmonies.

Or you could just have the Third and Octave.

yeha i think we'll try that thanks guys =D!

Could somebody explain this to me?

I normally just octave them =\

Thanks.

I'd check out The Millionaire Waltz. It's not really metal, but it could be if you arrange the piano part. It will totally blast anything that anyone has ever done.

Also, check out some classical music, as a whole bunch of it could be really metal if you arrange it properly. Now the challenge is to find it tabbed out.

OK.

Third + add9 means that one guitarist plays the actual riff, then another plays an interval of a third above it (a third = the distance between three intervals in a scale. Look it up on an online lesson (Google "scale intervals") if you still don't get it. Then, the other guitarist plays the 9th, which is an interval of a second, just an octave higher.

Same for third + fifth.

Ask me if you still don't get it.
