id just install it anyway without uninstalling the old one. ive had norton its not terrible. just not the best
#7
yes, norton is terrible. it slows your computer down as much as having a virus would. avg's main advantage is that it uses far less system rescources, therefore making the program, and your computer, work faster.

seriously, return it if you can.

damn i see what you guys mean i unistalled it before putting new one on and ran a lot faster than usual than once the new one was on it was back to its previous speed oh well im gunna have to put up with this for a year before getting avg

Norton is terrible. The people who make it are just in it for the money and bargain on people thinking it's better because you have to pay for it. The people who makes things like Avast! (ftw) and AVG are truly trying to make good anti viruses and only make money from advanced add-ons for companies.
After I uninstalled Norton and installed Avast! i found out I had like 12 viruses Norton hadn't picked up on :O

no one has answered the question, so i will. you wont need to uninstall the previous version.

Best free ones are AVG and Avast!

Personally, I like nod32, NOTHING gets past it and it barely uses any resources...always hovers around 8-12mb memory.

For the love of mankind, go with AVG and not Norton.
Norton is ridiculous. We all know of the almighty dangers that ADOBE UPDATE can cause! *gasp*

Dude, think of it like this.

If Norton made condoms, everyone would be pregnant.
