i currently have a crate bt15 and im looking to upgrade. Im a beginner looking for a combo mainly for practice but be able to be used in a few jams with a guitarist and a drummer. I was looking at the ashdown eb 12-180 but im open to anything. I would like to spend around $250 new or used.

You might want a bit more than 180 watts, but I've heard pretty good things about the eb's.

would he really need more than 180 watts for practice and jamming?
But I'm getting the Ampeg 115 I'm pretty sure it is. 100 watts though it's a hundred above the price range. Stupid backorder for 2 months man.

The Ashdown EB is a great amp, I gig with one and 180 watts is absolutely fine. Try and get the 15" version though.
