I just bought a Apple iMac 17", the $1200 one, two days ago. My question is, do I need any virus protection? I have heard that Macs are not prone to viruses at all but I bought this to record on and so all my songs and everything will be on here and I dont wanna lose it. Do I need virus protection?

Maybe i should get off the internet now, haha

The best way to protect your Mac from viri is to gently massage it with a baseball bat or sledgehammer.

But seriously, no you shouldn't need virus protection.

No, mac had far less security issues, but i would avoid any programs that seem dodgy.
I don't know much about mac cause I use linux, but they are similar enough. Mac, like linux, does not let programs start on their own free will and does not allow them unlimited permissions like windows.

If you are still a bit concerned google "mac antivirus" and more importantly "mac firewall".
