im thinking about doing a v guitar and i have a couple questions. could i do a poplar body or should i do 1 inch poplar with a 1 inch maple top? what are 2 good GFS humbuckers ( crazy etal distortion in the bridge and like a blues classic rock in the neck)? good tuners? do the floyed rose's on the guitar fetish website suck? is it possible to get black fret wire?

the body should not be half and half body wood and tone wood.. think 3/8 of an inch for the maple. The floyd roses on guitarfetish are not bad, but there are better.

http://store.guitarfetish.com/24frrohenero.html Classy 3-on-side headstock. PRS headstocks are also nice.
http://store.guitarfetish.com/gfscrraourho1.html For the bridge.
http://store.guitarfetish.com/v59alpacl.html For the neck. The neck version is down at the bottom of the page.

1 inch poplar and 1 inch maple will work, you could take the maple down to 1/2 an inch, maybe even 3/8ths, or even 1/4th.

With a planer, or by sanding it.

If you want. A two inch guitar isn't unheard of, but it's not that common.

You could take the poplar and the maple down to 3/4ths-ish each.
