Hey,
I am selling my spider II on thursday (YAY!!!), and with the combined funds of the sale and my savings, I decided to spend about 400 bucks on a good tube combo. At a local music store, I found a peavey classic 30 watt for 350 bucks. i haven't tried it yet, so does anyone here have any experience with them? And is 350 bucks for it a good deal?

Thanks!
Call me Wes.

Mainly rock and blues. But the most distortion i'll use is probably some overdrive.
I guess any way you look at it, it'll be better than my line 6 spider II (ick).

Sounds like a great deal, and an amp suited to your tastes, it will have nice cleans, and do blues/rock great.

Thats good. If I had a proper pedal, do you think it'll be able to handle metal?
If not, thats fine. About how distorted do you think I can push this amp until it starts sounding crummy?

^oh boy someone has been around solid state amps way too much. The beauty of tubes is that the harder you push them, the better they'll sound. The only concern might be speaker noise from the stock speaker, but you can always replace that.

He's right. Well, except all that and the part where you go deaf at volume level 10. But hey, it'll sound great right up till the end...
