i love the gibson classic les paul sound, i just can't stand the necks at all. Is there anyway to get a les paul type sound but with a fender/ibanez neck. the closest i have found is this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-C1-Artist-Limited-Edition-Electric-Guitar?sku=518187
but the only reason i dont like it is because it has a painted neck. So, its there a guitar with a les paul type sound with a fast neck that is not painted? It can be fixed with some 0000 steel wool, but i would rather have an unfinished maple neck. Oh and i've already tried SG's, i dont like the feel.

How thin of a neck do you want?

What is your price range?

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

if the schecter necks are pretty thin and can be solved with some sanding with steel wool, that would be okay if i cant find anything else. does anyone know what the schecter necks compare to?

Epiphone Les Paul Classic Quilt Top - Musiciansfriend.com Guitarcenter exclusive.

these have thin necks. i've been striving for a humbucker guitar with a fender feel. Hendriko told me bout'em, tried'em, i loved'em. $500 from GC or MF.

Get a mahogany body Ibanez, tune down a half step, and put a capo on the 1st fret. It'll get you close but not quite. Otherwise, I'd get an Epi LP with a bolt on neck and just sand down the back of the neck. A thinner neck means you are more likely to need a neck reset later on, but if the guitar has a bolt on neck then it's not a problem.

i often recommend showmasters. it's too bad that more people dont know about them. nice guitars.

you'd probably like a highway one showmaster. they rarely pop up on ebay, but they're american made and usually sell for around $500. natural bolt on necks and a sound thats what you're looking for. the only problem is finding one. good luck.
