EDIT: My bad I posted this on the wrong section lol...

I have a dilemma...
A Guitar dilemma.. (what else? )

Alright, here's the deal.
I have $200 on me right now and here's a quote from my dad:

Any guitar you're gonna buy, I'll pay 50% of it

So basically, with the money I have, I can buy up to a $400 guitar.
So I browsed around GC, and I came across this guitar...

So I was like, "Woah, this guitar looks pretty sweet.."
But I was a bit scared cause
1. I never played a Michael Kelly before, and it's sort of an infamous brand.
(And you know sometimes infamous brands can be crappy )
2. There's only about 6 or 4 people who rated this guitar.

So I browsed around a bit more.
I came across this..

I was like "Woah. This is another sweet guitar.."
there were things I noticed about this guitar...
1. It's 600$, meaning I have to save up 100 more dollars to get this..
2. Over 100 ratings online! Rated 4.5 overall
3. Sexy silver burst finish.. (A Gibson Custom Poser though...)

And finally, to the point;

I have two options.

1. I can just immediately buy the Michael Kelly.
or 2. I can save up 100 more dollars to buy the Epiphone.

And I have another question; Any Michael Kelly players out there? If so, are their guitars good?

Hmm, Yeah that's what everyone whom I asked said so far.
I just wanted more opinions to make sure..
No one seemed to owned/played a Michael Kelly though..

Uhh well I play almost everything cept for classics and blues.

I like to play Alternative, rock, punk, metal and hardcore.
Yeah i know, Metal = Ibanez all the way,
but my major in guitar is basically Rock and Alternative.

wait until you get 500 bucks, and get a really good guitar
and make your dad sign a contract saying he'll pay half of the price, that wat you could buy a 2000 guitar and only pay 1000
Gear:
Jackson DKMG Dinky (EMG 81/85)
Ibanez GIO (i put a Dimbucker in the bridge)
Crate GT65 (65 watts) to be upgraded soon, suggestions welcome (must be tubed)
Floor Pod (for sale)

a mexican fat strat?
Well, I already have a strat from Squier, and I wanna try something different you now?
Maybe an LP or a hollow.

Hmm, looks like the LP is winning :P

Have you thought about this:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/Gibson-Melody-Maker-Electric-Guitar?full_sku=512640%2e015

I have never played it but I've read some pretty good reviews (on GC and other sites) about it. It's in your price range right now as well so you can just go buy it today.

Personally I own a Ibanez GAX70 (beginner guitar I would think). Only 200$ and I love it. Play it through a VOX AD30VT and couldn't be happier. You're probably looking for something more feature rich / better sounding though. While I find nothing wrong with the sound of the GAX I think most experienced players would be able to point out some flaws.

Ibanez RG321

These are wonderful, and you would have some money left over to put towards a new amp or effects pedals.

Get the Michael Kelly, it's probably a better guitar than the $600 Epiphone anyway.
Actually called Mark!

I'd say a LP. Epi or Agile. You may think about Dean Cadillac. Thay look fantastic and sound very good too.
My gear:
Epiphone Limeted Edition Les Paul Custom G-400 with maestro Tremolo

Squire '51

Line 6 Spider II (it sucks but not as bad as people say it does)

secret answer 3: ask your dad to rent you a guitar for a couple weeks first so you can get an idea of wether or not you'll stick with it or stick it in your closet.

then, if after the rental you think you'll stick to 'er, get the epiphone.
