You know scales and chord progression? Can you improv?

Teach him a chord progression and play guitar on top of it.

When my brother was like 11 I taught him TNT by AC (thunderbolt) DC so we could jam It's really easy, just 3 notes.

I don't really understand why basses have 24 frets, I mean, I've never seen a bassist playing more than the 12 fret.

Any Blink 182, or Green Day.

The first song I learned on bass was 'Eight Days a Week' by The Beatles, then sunshine of your love-Cream, then money by Pink Floyd.

Edit: Teach him a 12 Bar Blues and solo over it.

I live by the method: 3 or less orange warning labels, and it's safe as a kitten

No ones gonna like this, but the first stuff I learned was Hawthorne Heights and Fall Out Boy (dont hurt me!). Believe it or not, Dance Dance is actually fun to play.

Beverly Hills - Weezer. Although, you need a wah pedal.

And every person with a bass guitar can play dance, dance. If they say they don't well, there liars and are going to Hell.

To add to the above---

Godzilla -- Blue Oyster Cult
Pipeline - Chantays
Rumble - Link Wray

Hell, heres a question for you. What does he listen to? pick easy songs from stuff that he likes... Unless he likes country. If thats the case, paint his room pink.

No it's 7/4 for money, 7/8 would mean that it is in compound time.

The rhythm is pretty simple in the piece, it's not too quick, the time signature shou;dn't really matter, it's not too complex when you're playing the piece.
