justw on a bunch of money at the casino and was thinking of spending most of it on a new amp. i was looking at the Fender G-DEC 30 Guitar Digital Entertainment Center Guitar Combo Amplifier but being the beginner i am i think $500 is a little much to be spending on an amp. is this amp worth the price? is it good for practicing with? are there any similar amps out there with a lower price? any suggestions for a nice quality small amp? looking to spend 100-300 dollars. if the G-DEC is worth the price i might spend the extra cash

^ way to help! The G-dec is a little overpriced, especially for SS. What kind of music do you play, and what's the US conversion of your budget?
Telecaster - SG - Jaguar
Princeton Reverb, Extra Reverb
P-Bass - Mustang Bass
Apogee Duet 2 - Ableton Suite

I love Canada.
Anyway no to the GDec. A rich boy's toy. A good used tube combo is the way to go, or in that same size range as the GDec there are a number of 5 watt tube combos for $200 USD. One of those and a few good pedals and you're set.

Crate v8; 5 watts all tube, awesome sound because you can crank it without killing somebody, and only $280 US.

You can still get it for $200, but get it while the gettin's good. The price could jack up at any time.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
