Well, with all these symphonic metal songs on the rise, I figured I'd jump on the boat and give it a shot This is probably my first attempt at something like this (can't remember haha). I'm not too crazy about the first half of the second solo, so that's not written in stone yet. But the rest I'm pretty happy with

P.S I'd also like to give credit to zakatak9389 for the idea of simulating a delay effect in GP (the first solo).

man thats awosome.
the in tro is nice, and i really liked the strings.
i really liked the delay effect in the firt solo.
all the riffs were nothing too special, but still nice and they fited the whole thing.
the piano part is just awsome, i have nothing more to say about it.
the last solo is also very good, not special, but still great.
the part i liked the most is the piano outro, just amazing, very well written.

btw, how do you make the delay effect on GP?

well, now this is more like it man! I really liked this a lot, just like you're older stuff

bars 1-8 were great, w/ the strings. At bar 9 though, try to do a kind of melody w/ the strings, while the acoustic repeats itself. Other then that it's good.

bars 17-32 was just pure musical genious. Absoultuely perfect!

bars 33-48 were great, but the only thing I didn't like was the strummed B minor chord. And also that it repeated a little too much. Like maybe try to do something different w/ the strings at bars 41-48. Other then that it's good stuff.

the little solo from bars 49-64 was great. I can see how my little delay effect made its way in there . the only thing I would suggest is turning down electric guitar 2, so it's not so prominent, just so it's kind of like a subtle background effect, you know what I mean? the actual solo was great though.

bars 65-83 were ok, but with vocals, it would be absolutely killer, so just make sure that if you record this, try to do that . plus I reeeeeeeeeally liked the little arpeggios in bars 80+81 .

transfer to D1 was good, and so was the actual riff itself. Everything from bars 92-141 was awesome riffage too, I just hope you put some awesome vocals over it, not that it needs vocals, but it would really complement the awesome music behind them.

Liked the piano bit from bar 142-173, and what's kind of funny about it is that I had written a big piano part for the interlude in my newest song, and it sounds a lot like what you did there. Although, I know you didn't rip me off or anything, cuz I never actually posted it. anyways, it was pretty awesome especially with the strings and harmonized guitars playing over it. top notch stuff

Transfer from bar 174-175 was pretty much perfect man. Riff from 175-190 was just
brilliant. Nothing else to say about it. My head almost exploded from its awesomness

solo wasn't as good as you could have done, but it was still pretty great. I liked how you started it, but I didn't really like bars 245-248. try to choose a different note for bar 245, and maybe some more creative licks in bars 246-248. I really liked the harmonizing after that though from bars 249-257. It was basically perfect .

Outro was great too, especially with the piano solo.

Overall, it's a great song, and I really liked it a lot. This is probably the best one you've done in quite a while. Awesome work man

Dude. Holy shiite in a pota potti with explosive diarea. That was insanely good. I'm guitarist and a pianist and I loved every part of each instrument. That was very, very good. I don't think I heard very many things that sounded like they shouldn't be there. That was basically perfect. lol

I'm very impressed, I enjoyed the piece a lot I think guitar and piano composition was great! The only thing that I would have personally changed would be the string arrangement it got a little repetitive, that's just a personal thing though apart from that it was great
#11
Great work. realy enyoyed every second of it.
And i liked the strings in the start, it gave a kinda cold feeling which i think you were going for. And the delay in the little solo is just awsome.
And then the riffs. they were all good, only thing that botherd me was that you could change the first, or the second bar to a 7/8 timesig to make it look better on paper.
Sound wise it was all good. Also all your piano stuff was great.
And finaly you used some markings, its kinda been bothering me in your songs that you dont use any marks, so i dont know were im in the song. But you didt here, yeahj.

Crit my latest?

Wow. Way to burst my bubble, man. I write a new song and I think it's great, then I stumble across another one of you're songs and suddenly mine sounds pretty mediocre...

Very well written. A melody in the intro would have been nice, but that could left to vocals and still work really well. The first solo was excellent. The transition to part 2 was really good and the actual riff was excellent as well. Some vocals would be nice here, but I'm assuming those will come later. Part 3 blew my mind. The piano was amazing. The guitar melody added a lot to it as well. Then when the drums and bass enter it sounds just epic. The return to the part 2 riff was excellent as well. The second solo also was amazing, and you wrapped it all up perfectly with that mellow piano part at the end. Beutiful piece. 10/10. Mind critting my new one? It's unfinished right now, but you can give it a look anyways.

Yeah, some of it is a bit repetitive, but it was excellent nonetheless.

The only things i didn't like too much were bar 28 and the likes, they didn't seem to fit in.

A3 is absolutely awesome.

You need to turn the delayed guitar down a tad though, at around 10ish.

In D1, the synth makes it sound too, how do i describe it, 'hollow'.
I think you can hear what i mean, it doesn't really sound full.

The whole of Part III is just plain awesome as well.

Loved the harmony in that solo.

The outro was excellent again.

I agree with what's been said, it was a bit too repetitive, but yeah, great stuff again. 9/10

Seeing as Symphonic Metal seems to be the craze in here now ( )mind having a look at the one in my sig? I know it's got a lot off comments, just not enough crits.

The intro reminded me a lot of zakataks intro but that doesnt mean it wasn't awesome. A3 was awesome. The piano work was awesome though. I Didn't like the start of Part IV either, the orchestra hit just seemed overused. Same with part II. IMO. I thought P2 repeated to much witch i think made P3 sound more repetitive then it should be. But the rest of the song was seriosuly awesome. Really enjoyed Part III.

Really nice song 9.5/10

This is the kind of thing i would love to listen to on my MP3 player. It's EPIC!! Man, love the use of piano and how it plays off the guitar.. It's harded to crit without GP becaues i can't see the bars, but the second solo needs a bit of work.. After all the build up through the song, that solo is pretty much the climax.. And with your writing abilities i'm sure you could come up with something a bit better.. The first half of it is much better than the second half.. Other than that fantastic song. WHen this is recorded with vocals let me know!!!

Wow...!
thisis quite a masterpiece , i'd obviously like to say some thng, firstof all i think the idea of the delay is not bad but it's maybe a bit to much delay i think .. i especially like A3 , it's unusual to add a chord strum on the second note but it sounds very good to me and gives the song something idividual. I think you should D2 to make 4 bars of well i would call it kind a interlude...with3 bars imo it just sounds a bit incomplete this part. The white Kingdom is just..wow , don't know any word anymore, but maybe you could think of a patter for the distortian guitar in P3 after it, holding this single tones at least it guitar pro sounds a bit strange..i could imagine very well a nice sweep in there i think it woul fit very well, not to much just to harmonize with the piano. in bar 246 i would add one more tone , think it would comlete the phrase,in 255 in would make another sweep octaved to the solo don't know exactly but it mgight end with a 12 on the b string in rhytm guitar and a 17 on the high e string, the summer's gone sounds like part of imaginations from the other side from blind guardian to me .. but it fits in very well, especially the piano again
well it's quite a lot of critic now but be assured I love this piece as it is and these thing imo just would make it even more 'EPIC'

are you kidding? this song is much more elegant that my spirit will go on. they both use acoustic for an intro...oh my god...end of the world....

i just listened to both the intros. they're both similar, but they go in completely different directions.

That intro is gorgeous and evocative. Maybe some bass fills would enhance it even more during the acoustic parts
