Hmmm... you might have done more damage than just blowing a tube. If you plugged a pedal into the ext. speaker (why?).. that disconnects the actual speaker and if you run a tube amp without it being hooked up to speaker you may have fried your output transformer
#4
No, no, no, no...I plugged the footswitch into the ext. speaker thing, whic was always epty, its for the external speaker, not the ones in it. I plugged it into it becasue the wholes are relatively similar and rather close...and I wasn't looking. It still works all well and good, a tube might've just did...how can I tell, etc.

You never stated what exactly is happening with your amp as far as performance differences.

Still though, if you plug something into the ext. speaker jack I'm pretty sure it cuts off the internal speaker and obviously you weren't hooked up to another speaker. If it still works then you are lucky fellow. If the tubes are lighting up and nothing weird is going on then they are fine.

Wtf... everyone beat me

EXTENSION speaker jack....as in, extra speakers. The internal speakers are still in the circuit. It's fine.

It didn't blow up anything. You can't really blow up a footswitch.

Thank you.

There aren't any performance issues I can tell...I don't even knoe if it's blown...how do you tell...

Also, it's working, 3 out of 4 tubes are lit, and the footswitch is functional.

EDit...see original questions....how do I know it's blown and would that cause one to blow?

If it's blown, it won't work. The one unlit tube is probably just dim, if everything is still working there's nothing to worry about. Plugging in the footswitch could blow your amp if you had it set the right way and tried to play through it for a while.

If one's blown, the whole thing won't work?

^Unless it's a reverb tube, and then you can't have blown the reverb tube by doing that. You would have taken out any combination of your output transformer, your power tubes, and/or a fuse.

yeah, think of it as christmas lights sometimes. when one bulb goes out, it disconnects the flow of electricity to the other lights... yada yada yada.

if nothing's happened to your amp's performance, chances are nothing's wrong.

edit: ^ also take that into consideration

yeah, i'm pretty sure the makers figured that out a while ago. i'm sure they're in parallel

but in typical older comedy christmas movies, they'd have one light go out, and the whole thing be ruined ha. that's just what went through my head anyway o_O

what's blown? where's this hole?

you'd have to order a new 6L6 tube, and probably take it to a shop to have it rebiased and tubed.
