If you're just going to get Windows, don't get a mac. That being said, I lurve my mac.

If you can afford it get a mac.
WELL
What are you going to use it for?

I was under the impression that a Macbook is a laptop... You can run Windows on a Macbook if you were so obliged. I don't know enough about laptops to give opinions though.

If you have windows now stay with it and get a laptop.

Macs are too different and there are little things about it that aren't as good as a normal laptop.

Mac books are so much better. I own a PC laptop right now and it doesn't even compare to my friends mac book. He never gets any viruses and it runs faster and smoother. Plus you can run all the same programs on it as a PC.

I have used and loved Windows since I got my very first computer. But last summer it was time to buy a new computer for my freshman year of college.... and I went and bought a Macbook Pro. WOW! Apple is amazing.... I love my computer and the company! Apple's customer service is UNPARALLELED. I had a small problem with my mac this summer (I am going to be a sophomore this coming year) so I went to the local Apple Store. They had my computer fixed and back to me within 4 days!!! Do you know how long Best Buy or Dell would have taken...? Again, I was an avid fan of Windows, and I certainly do not hate Windows... but Macs are better, BY FAR. If you have the $$, GO FOR A MAC!!!
#14
If you can find someone who doesn't work at an apple store to give you 3 good reasons for getting a Mac instead of a normal laptop, I will touch your penis.
#15
hmm if i got a macbook i wouldnt use it and put windows on it...

but you can do pretty much the same thing on either...but it is harder to get a virus on a mac but if your carefull with a pc your fine...

wat are you all on about?

here are some basic computer terms.
PC-personal computer, can refer to both windows and macs.
Laptop, a portable PC, again can refer to both windows and macs.
Desktop, a non portable PC, again, can refer to both.....

and my opinon would be windows.

theres no point in getting a mac if you're gonna run windows.

Other than the fact that Macintosh's laptops tend towards being more powerful than pc laptops?

Sorry, I love PCs but Macintosh has its redeeming qualities.

I lived on a floor with 38 other guys Freshman year. The majority had Windows based computers, but by the end of the year, after seeing my Mac and the few other's Macs, the greater majority said that their next computer would be a Mac. See one in action, play around with one. They last longer, have better apps, look better, perform better and it is not possible to get a virus on a Mac. Also if you are into music and recording (most of you!) go for a Mac. Believe me.

...Actually, PC is like a Dell or HP or whatever
and a Mac would be like a iMac or something. macs arent ever referred to as PCs by people who know anything about them.

If you're going to run windows, get a laptop, not a mac. Macs are great for everything besides windows.

Depends on your weight. If you're fat, by a Mac so you can start burning calories by running your mouth about how much better Mac's are on no grounds whatsoever.

....perhaps where you live there not, but everyone who works in the IT world knows what i stated previously, and saying macs arent PCs is just ignorance.

Two main systems to make it easier, IBM PC Compatible and Macintosh. Macintosh refers to the platform for the Mac OS. Generally we call IBM PC Compatibles "PCs" for the sake of ease.

I'm a Windows guy myself, and I'll tell you, with the experiences I've had a Macbook is a good thing for the price, and I'm not sure you can get a nicer PC laptop for anything close to it. Macbooks run Windows if you so want it to, it also happens to be a laptop. If nothing else it's the better buy. Mac desktops are another story however...

Other than that, most PC manufacturers are rubbish. You get that brand-new, brand-name PC and it's loaded with all kinds of trash, the general quality of parts isn't exactly choice either. Tech support, not that I'm saying Apple's tech support is any good... I'm just saying that they're less bad than any of the other players in the market. It's not like you're gonna play games on it, that what desktops are for (don't try for a gaming laptop, been there... done that, short battery-life, big, heavy).

If, as you suggested, both the PC and the Mac are the same price... you could either get:

A) A PC to run Windows.
B) A Mac to run Windows an MacOS as a bonus.

It's a no brainer at that point.

What OS you run doesn't change that fact it's still a "Personal Computer". Apple wants to push their products farther by making them stand out from everyone else. It's just that rather than make an outstanding product, they're trying to sucker people into zealous devotion. The sad thing is, it works.

Couldn't agree more, I find Apple to be a very arrogant company.

On topic, you can do the same stuff with a Mac and a PC, if you are not mentally challenged of course, but gaming (Actually you can, but it's not worth it). So I say Macbook.

I never get any viruses, because i'm not a retard and I don't download things from pop-ups or email attachments.

Macs are ridiculously over-priced for what you get, in terms of system specs.

And it is much easier to record songs and ideas on a Mac.

I don't get why everyone always says that because it's not true.

Anyway, I was a windows user until I got a macbook, and now I'm converted. I run windows on it as well, so when I need to run a program that is windows only, I can do that too.

i got a macbook

if you want to run windows on a mac your gonna be workin boot camp or parallels. I have parrallels and its hell, it takes to much work to set up connections and share files between the mac and the windows ones. if you want windows do yourself a favor, get a laptop

however the mac is pretty good as far as i can compare. also try boot camp, i think it would be easier

For the most part, all mac antiviruses are to protect you from passing along viruses you recieve to windows users via email or file transfers.
