I've been hearing a lot about recessed TOMs lately and since that part in my build is coming up, I've been wondering what the advantages of having a recessed TOM over a standard one, other than the obvious no neck angle.

well that is one long sentence.

Maybe it would be easier to adapt to if you are accustomed to a Floyd Rose style bridge. I don't know.

recessed you cant use a stop tail piece, you pretty much have to do string through body with top ferrules. No neck angle and aesthetic properties are basically the advatages

Well.. my build is already planned to be a string through, but is having it recessed play any different?
