Arguably the best band to have come out of the late 70's. Their S/T is one of the most perfect records I have heard from the NWOBHM, you only have to listen to the song Angel Witch to hear.

Wow, this is fantastic NWOBHM.

The Hammond, by God yes, the Hammond!

I find myself listening to the self-titled a fair bit recently, what an album. Well chuffed that they're coming to Hellfest, dohoho.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

"Essential" doesn't even begin to describe Angel Witch. One of those genre-defining bands for sure.

The Sweet Danger EP is brilliant, too. Deliciously rough around the edges without sacrificing a spot of quality.

^+1. I love everything about the album. And plus, the entire album is catchy as hell.
That's what I read.

New song up now. Cover art is absolutely killer. Song...not so much. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but just lacking something. Production is shite on it too. They played one or two new songs live last year and they sounded great, so I definitely know there are a few good songs on this new one.

In all seriousness though, I wouldn't exactly call that album the epitome of cheese.

Frontal Assault and Screamin' n' Bleedin' aren't very good. Not bad per se, but just underwhelming considering how utterly glorious the debut is.

Don't get me wrong, I like the their s/t as much as the next guy (Though probably less), but the stylistic changes between albums are enough to warrant a completely different reaction than comparison; Same name, but far too off stylistically.

I do get your point, but I agree with it for different reasons. I previously mentioned that I love/hate Frontal Assault. I hate it because it just isn't that good in its own rights, and I love it because I enjoy it.

All things considered, I didn't mind their latest effort - maybe it was the LP version that brought out something unique,.. I mean, some of the songs were a bit muddled and lacked direction, they were definitely rusty and could have perfected it more, but it was satisfying at least. At least to my ears it still sounded like their hearts were in the right place.

So every time I click on a random song on youtube from their latest, I end up getting turned off. So what's like, the best song on the newest album?

I'm really fond of Dead Sea Scrolls, but then again I'm a sucker for full chords used in riffs and harmonized leads.
