Turning my Fender Strat into a Frankenstrat replica?

It wouldn't be completley exact...I'd probably leave the neck pickup working as well as the bridge so It'd be abit more versatile.

Meh. It's really overdone.

This is true and the audience will think that if they were all UGers; however, 99.999% of the population probably haven't heard of the UG.

AntClifford, I say go for it and remember, Patience is key when refinishing. Good Luck!

Cheers!

One last question - White with black stripes or should I go the whole hog and do red with black and white stripes?

Wait, are you going to mod a Fender Strat? You shouldn't in my opinion, if you mess up you will have messed up a Fender!

That is so true; however, think of the valuable lessons that will be learned. Since there won't be any hardware changes or routing involved, just paint, it can be refinished over and over ... more skills will be developed, hopefully.
