Circle of 4ths, good place to start. All of the below are for Ionian (major) key.

C: no sharps or flats
G: F#
D: F# C#
A: F# C# G#
E: F# C# G# D#
B: F# C# G# D# A#

That should get you started. Learn those key signatures and you are on your way.

Found a good page, this one tells you what chords you can use in each key. Keys have a pattern of chords you should use, for example the C major scale is:

C Major
D Minor
E Minor
F Major
G Major
A Minor
B Diminished

http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/chords/chordchart.htm

The minor keys have the option of 3 different patterns, the most common pattern is for e.g. in A minor:

A Minor
B Diminished
C Major
D Minor
E Minor
F Major
G Major
