I just got some money back from my insurance, so It's time to buy my new head.

I play a fair bit of metal, but also rock, blues, jazz, etc. I play in cover bands, plus we do all sorts of different styles at TAFE. Would I be better off with a Marshall DSL50, or a Genz Benz El Diablo 60? I need something pretty versatile.

I'll be using it through a 4x12 with Vintage 30s & G12-75s in an X pattern. The main guitars it will be played through are an Ibanez RG321 with a JB & a Jazz, an Ibanez SA220FM and an Ibanez Artcore (can't remember the model). I'll only be using a Holy Grail, and a crybaby modded for true bypass.

I only have $1700AUD to spend on this amp, and I'd prefer to go new.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

I couldn't really find anything in Randall that I liked. I do like a few H & K amps, but the dealer i have to get this amp from doesnt keep them in stock, so they can't give me a good deal on one.
