Alright, I have an ibanez rg1570 tuned standard. I also have a relatively ****ty strat copy that I can tune extremely fast. So I was wondering, could I drop a hot pickup in it so that I can use this guitar to play drop D and such so I don't have to retune the Ibanez?

what brand is the strat? and what kind of wood is it made of... and what pickup were you thinking of?

Well you could, but it probably isn't the best solution money-wise opposed to simply adjusting your Ibanez for drop D when you want to.

Seymour Duncan Hotrail.

When I had a 57 re-issue strat I had one placed in the bridge - very hot.
