I just bought a Randall half stack. Its my first and I was wondering can you use an instrument cable to hook the cab to the head. Thanks

I've used a 1/4" cable to hook them up before. It works, but I found it sounded better when I used an actual 1/4" cable.

^ Um... what? Both speaker cable and instrument cable are 1/4 inch. You need speaker cable. It's the same plug, just different cable.

You can use an instrument cable but it will damage the head. Speaker cables are the only way to go.

Don't use instrument cable, it won't sound as good plus it's a fire hazard. Instrument cables are designed to take very small amounts of current whereas the current going from a head to a cab are far bigger thus meaning that the cable could go on fire
