Hey, I play in a four piece band, I'm planning on buying a Vox AC30 as my main amp for band practices and gigs, I'm just curious as to whether it could compete with a 100 watt marshall avt volumewise.

Cheers in advance, Tyas

Absolutely no contest. The Vox owns the Marshall, in both tone and volume.

Quoted for truth. You'll find that the Vox is MUCH louder than the Marshall.

Cheers! I was a bit worried because of the wattage if you know what I mean I would guess 100 watts is louder than 30, but as long as the Vox is louder I'll go for it.

Cheers!

tube amps are louder than solid state and hybrid ones.
and loads of pros have used the ac30 live, so you should be fine.

I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..

Why do people always ask if "X amp is louder than X amp"? If you're in a band then you want both guitars to be at the same volume...it's not a pissing contest.

OT, the Vox is amazing (provided it's right for the style you want to play), the AVT is crap for everything.

I've seen a 25 watt MG compete with an AVT150 on volume plus the AVT is massively overpriced and nowhere near as sweet sounding as the Vox.

Given the options, I would get the Vox solely on general principle. Everything else is just a perk.
