sir, i would like to inform you that you are now my favorite UGer. Not only did you use the word y'all, which is native to my homeland, but you correctly punctuated it using the apostrophe.

I really doubt you learned 20 songs in two weeks of playing

and if so which songs?

Edit: and number of songs does not equal penis length.

Most people can barely fret a chord cleanly after 2 weeks, so you're either some kind of freakish creature grown in a lab from the leftover Steve Vai DNA that Ibanez didn't put in the anniversary JEMs, or you're talking bollocks.

Just learn at you're own pace and advance in small, manageable steps. Solos are a way off for you at the moment, work on your basic techniques for a good few months because no matter how good you think you are i can guarantee that you suck. That's not really a criticism, everyone sucks after 2 weeks, but if you don't accept that you suck then you won't feel the need to try and get better.

Learning an intro is not the same as learning a song - you need to be learning some full songs then you have somewhere to put a solo.

Also don't just learn tabs as they don't actually teach you anything useful. Spend some time on simple guitar theory, start learning the notes on the fretboard and start learning chords. I know you want to be creating fretboard fireworks but you're going to have to go through a whole lot of "boring" stuff to get to the good stuff.

I seriously doubt you can even play the intros to some of those songs properly. After 2 weeks you should still be struggling with moving around chords and your trying to tell us you can play some of those properly.........................your no where near ready to learn solos, learn some chords and scales - practice getting ur fingers (especially pinky) moving, learn some rhythm and then learn solos.

Its so hard to me to believe you have been playing 2 weeks and learned those - even if they are just intros.
#17
yea my friend did the exact same thing and rushed into stuff, turns out that when i actually heard him play he didnt even have a clue what a power chord was.

EDIT- LOL! at the list!
#18
i sorta know that stuff. i kno hammer ons, pull offs, bends, slides, 5 chords, powerc chords, and 2 scales, string names, and all the notes but i have to go slow to name them.
#19
5 chords that is it?? you need to know waaaay more than that...

thats not bad actually

and theres only 7 basic chords so learn the other two
and a mabey like 2 or 3 variations of them as well as the full barre version

edit:
yeah i guarentee guitar hero helped you because you get basic finger movement and coordination down and a bunch of scale patterns , i did the same thing

Thats like saying you created a theme park in roller coaster tycoon but in reality it means jack****. Playing guitar is more difficult than bashing 5 buttons.

most songs that have just chords take more than just the a b c d e f and g

if u kno more chords would u be a better player cause i started guitar because my friend plays and he knows like a lot of chords but only 2 songs and hes been playing for a month.
#25
not specifically they just make you more experienced and able to play more songs and write your own better

First solo's:

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come as you Are

Enjoy.

Whilst compared to alot of solo's things like Smoke on the Water are "easy", I'd like to see someone play it well after even a year and a half. Well articulated bends, clear notes etc.

Wait a couple months before attempting solos.

Maybe the reason you are bored with songs is because you only learned the intros... lol
A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have moved on to rap music.
Put this in your signature if you are one of the 8% who stayed with the real music.
#30
I think the point about recording yourself is worth mentioning again. Why not record the 20 intros now and save them. Start learning some chords and scales and basic picking and strumming and then go back in a few months and re record them. I bet you'll notice a big difference if you put some time in practicing.

you got that right how do you think i got my medical degree

its basically playing 5 frets on one string

oh wait if your playing part of a scale say 12-13-15
which would be green red blue
your not doing the same thing? oh wait yes you are and the speed in guitar hero trains you to play it faster

hmmm....

#38
wow I am going to start playing more video games, I will become the best in the world at guitar by playing guitar hero instead of practicing with a real guitar!!! yay!! thats the best idea I ever heard.
