Okay, hm. I kinda need help here to make sure this is the right amp for me, so please help!

I play;
Metallica
Nightwish
Nirvana
Ac/dc
Zeppelin
Smashing Pumpkins

Yeah, nothing heavier than Metallica so ..
Will this amp do wonders for me?

I'm also going to be attempting my first Classical piece after I'm done learning Master of Puppets so I kinda need a sweet sounding clean that will sound amazing with some Delay/Chrous/Reverb.

Please help! seeing as I can't go to the store and try it out due to the fact if I want it I will have to order it.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

The V8 is the best amp in it's class, IMHO. It'll do most of what you're looking for on it's own, but adding something like a Bad Monkey OD will help you get your heavier tones relatively inexpensively.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.

Thanks, Slats. I was hoping you would reply to my thread.

It won't do Nightwish even with an OD, they have a very high gain compressed sort of tone. Everything else it should do well.

EDIT: An EQ pedal would improve its versatility tremendously.

EDIT AGAIN: Scratch that, I just remembered it has a tone control. EQ pedal might still be needed if you want the scooped metallica sound though.

that's what i'd have thought, based on the valveking royal 8 i tried- never even seen a palomino round here.

that being said if it's still $200 and will do most of the tones you want, you probably can't go far wrong...
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
